MAYA PRAT

ENG – Maya Prat, born in Israel, 1994. Maya has been painting her whole life. At the age of 18, she joined “Tarbut movement” – an association of artists and educators that works in social and geographic periphery in order to create culture hubs outside of Israel’s economic center.
In the last 4 years Maya has been living in Nahariya, studying visual arts and cultural entrepreneurship. Together with her friends, she is working to gather the artists and residents of Nahariya in an attempt to develop unique local art and culture and to renew the connection between the artists, the community and the audience.
In this work Maya asked people to tell her of the strangest moment they had since the beginning of the lockdown and then she illustrated their stories. Very quickly it became a channel for connections with an expanding circle of people from all around.

FR – Maya Prat, née en Israël en 1994. Maya a peint toute sa vie. À l’âge de 18 ans, elle a rejoint le «mouvement Tarbut» – une association d’artistes et d’éducateurs qui travaillent dans des périphéries sociales et géographiques afin de créer des pôles culturels en dehors du centre économique d’Israël.
Depuis 4 ans, Maya vit à Nahariya et étudie les arts visuels et l’entrepreneuriat culturel. Avec ses amis, elle oeuvre à rassembler les artistes et les résidents de Nahariya afin de développer un art et une culture locale unique et de renouer les liens entre artistes, communauté et public.
Dans le cadre de ce projet de grande envergure, Maya a demandé aux gens de lui raconter le moment le plus étrange qu’ils avaient vécu depuis le début du confinement, ensuite elle a mis en images leurs histoires. Très rapidement, ce projet a établi des connexions avec un cercle grandissant de personnes de tous les horizons.
